Best of TV (Reaper Awards! 2012)

So I am a pop culture junkie. I am hooked on various TV series. I love music and books but this is gonna be all about TV. Now to be honest I rarely watch TV as it plays but catch it on Shaw on Demand. Anyways this is kinda weak but to start this week off lets talk about TV.
First off I hate sitcoms, well maybe I don't hate them but I sure don't follow them. However i have found the best sitcom out there is.... The Big Bang Theory. It is a show based around actual funny smart humour! Not just dick and fart jokes.... Nothing wrong with dick and fart jokes but Big Bang is smart and funny! It is not as edgy as say Family Guy or South Park but it is funny as hell and does get some good jabs in at stupid people.
Next is guilty pleasures..... First is Glee. I said it, Glee! The whole thing is stupid, a musical show about the "sigh" lives of high school kids. I wish i could go back to the problems I had in high school. I have no sympathy for the characters but the one liners are great and the blonde dumb cheerleader is fucking hot! Second guilt pleasure Hawiiai Five 0. Terrible show! The acting is bad, the plots are so often easy to solve but... For a G rated action show it is pretty damn good. The new blonde cop really helps out as Grace Park doesn't do it for me. Had HBO made it, it might actually be a hit but global...? Maybe not so much. Finally Bones. It is cheesy and very weak compared to the books it is based on but.. It is funny, the writing is good and even if the cases are easy to solve the overall show is just fun. But now on to the good stuff.
Best fantasy fiction on TV. Easy, Game of Thrones.  No one is safe, Ned Stark proved that. The story first off is awesome. The acting amazing, this is a show I hope goes on for a long time.. But since it is based on a book series I would say it has a limited series span. Also in top Fantasy series but not winning. True Blood, never read the books, heard they are good. Starting to get way over top though. Fairyland? At war? WTF. Maybe with some fine tuning True Blood can find its way back but last season was toooooo much. Grimm and Once Upon a Time have a lot of potential but we will have to wait and see how they go.
Best (New) Action series... Strike Back. I am sad, thinking that since it is based on a book and it wrapped up it is done. Yes it is a huge American and British show.. Boo terrorists hurray us and yada yada yada. But is was well done. Everything a guys action show need, guns, boobs and bombs. However I will prematurely say Spartacus will win next time. Cant wait to see the new season.
Best WTF show Shameless. I can't even explain the whole plot of this series but it is amazing. Drama, comedy, wtf? It has it all if you have a twisted sense of humour and out look on life. I think everyone should at least give it a chance.
Best Sport Show. Hockey Night In Canada. Self explanitory
Best Crime Drama Boardwalk Empire. This is a stretch, there is a better show but we will get to that. Season 1 was better. But the fact is season 2 was still very good. Steve B. is amazing as Nucky. For once he doesn't have to play a creepy weirdo. But Season 2 finale??? Jimmy was the best part of that series. Didn't they learn from 2 and a half men you can't kill the main character? If they want me to keep watching they had better not try and redeem Nucky.
Best Show called Dexter. You guessed it! Dexter! Except for a dismal third season, Dexter never fails to be good. This season was well played and Tom Hanks kid is a great pyscho! Except for Trinity he is easily the best guest star. And the ending, wow perfect Deb finally sees him for what he is. Minus the whole incest thing one of the best seasons ever. Also a hat tip to Mos, as Brother Sam.
Drum roll please... The winner, best of the best.....
Sons Of Anarchy. I hate to say I told you so but I did after season 1! This show just gets better and better. Unlike the Sopranos which went through lull's every second season Sons has yet to disappoint. Not 100% sure I am a fan of the CIA becoming involved but we shall see how that plays out. Huge cheers to Kurt Sutter for making this. Ron P, Kathy S and Charlie H for being the best and most crazy family on TV. The whole cast and crew deserve huge Kudos.
Worst thing on TV.... The MTV generation. Thats not a show (I hope) But that is a group of shows. Just terrible TV, for people raised in the TV nation. So here is a small list of all the shows that fall into it. Jersey Shore, WTF other than Jwows ass this is awful. Given the chance I promise to bitch slap everyone from this show. Gossip Girl?? Really what is this garbage. Vampire Diaries, couldn't bring myself to watch another episode after my roommate made me watch one. Anything with the word Kardasian. Just stop, you are on all the tabloids in the grocery store, why must I see you at home to. Not that Kim is hard on the eyes but I can only watch so much TV in mute. Allen Gregory, please do not get renewed. Seth McFarlane, Matt Stone and Trey Parker topped cartoons so lets stop making stupid new ones. Survivor, big brother your still on?

Blog? Why not!

So here it goes my first blog. I am clearly not smart enough to make my own page or at least I am way too lazy. It took me along time to get to here. For along time I figured bloggers, vloggers, people who write letters to the editor were either pompous self righteous asses, or lonely bored goth kids. Then I looked at my own writing career. Wait I don't have a writing career,my NHL 2012 Career is actually better... At least people read some blogs. Still not sold. Then I watched Jenna Marbles, she is insane and hilarious. But she's hot and i am not so still not sold. I met a couple bloggers, nice people, smart people, funny people they destroyed my idea that bloggers were jackasses, but still not sold. Then i had an argument with a friend about new years resolutions. I said they were stupid, I was asked why and I said no one keeps them. I guess some people do! So I looked back and every year I said I would write more. I started a lot but never finished anything, so here is my resolution. To write at least 3 times a week. I figure if I start by blogging then I can keep on writing and maybe work on some of my stories or comics rather than my NHL 2012 career. So really the blog is supposed to just be a warm up. 3 times a week..... I have no idea if anyone is gonna read this but I guess I can say a bit about me before I blog, so if someone does read they know what they are getting into.

I am Canadian, as far as I know I am the perfect Canadian. I love Tim Hortons and hockey. I am from Alberta, again I am good that. I support the oil industry and hate the Leafs, Canucks and Habs. I have been hunting, I like fishing. I drive a truck (But suck at anything mechanical) My home town was 30,000 when I lived there. So yeah I kinda fall into the Alberta Redneck category. But compared to a lot of my friends I fail. I am 30, I work a job I enjoy but it is not what I dreamt of doing as a kid. Really I dunno what I dreamed of being as a kid. Hobbies are reading, writing, hockey, camping.... This is starting to read like a date site profile. For some reason I am great at trivia, all kinds of stupid useless knowledge fill this head. I always have to have music playing and I like most music. I am sure if you actually read my blogs you will know me better. So thats it, that all lets start blogging.....
